Don't you just love these things? The real thumper - the XT/TT500 Yamaha. Let's talk 500s.

So what is this 500 Yammy group?

The venerable XT/TT500 Yamaha - the big single reinvented by the Japanese. And wasn't she a beauty? If like us you love these old beasts, this is the group for you. So come on in - start or join a discussion, post a photo or even just comment.

How do groups work? Well, it's kind of like a separate area or room within the main site. Each group has a dedicated discussion forum where you can post or reply to posts, and a comment wall on which you can post a general comment or add a photo. Just keep it all in line with the group's theme. This group is for anyone into 500 Yamahas...

Hi All 500 groupies I just got my old 500 back from the shop and it now runs. It was an XT but I would like to set it up as a TT so i am looking for guards, some plastics etc. Was there any real difference in the engines ?

I've got a bit of stuff I want to get rid of, modified PE swingarm, airbox, tank, forks, some other stuff I need to dig out and a heap of ideas that don't work. Seriously, I can probably save you a lot of dramas.

Cheers

Brent

Well, I must admit I meant the thumpers when I started this group. I guess the SC500 was the FIRST 500, true enough. Funnily enough it wasn't until I got into VMX I even found out those things existed!

How many...................
1 race bike, complete
A 95% complete "G"
Another race bike 90% finished
A "C" in 5 boxes
And enough parts to build one more bike
and I do ask myself how many I need?!!!!!!!!!!!
